It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the tragic multi-vehicle crash that occurred Friday evening on Lewis and Clark Boulevard near Haviland Drive in Bellefontaine Neighbors, Missouri, which claimed the lives of three individuals. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision involved a Cadillac SRX, a Lexus RX350, and a Toyota Highlander, resulting in a devastating chain-reaction crash that left a lasting impact on the north St. Louis County community.
Preliminary reports indicate that the crash began when a southbound Cadillac sideswiped a Lexus, causing the Lexus to cross into oncoming traffic and collide with a northbound Toyota. The impact caused the Lexus to overturn, and both the driver of the Lexus, a 53-year-old woman from St. Louis, and the driver of the Toyota, a 28-year-old woman from Florissant, were pronounced deceased at the scene. An 18-year-old passenger in the Lexus also lost their life in the crash. Authorities confirmed that neither driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. The investigation remains ongoing, and further details regarding the Cadillac driver have not yet been released.
We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in this heartbreaking incident. No words can ease the pain of such sudden and devastating loss, but the community stands in solidarity with those grieving during this unimaginably difficult time.
May the lives lost in this tragedy be remembered with dignity and respect. Each of the victims was a valued individual with their own story, relationships, and dreams, and their absence will be profoundly felt by all who knew and loved them. As the investigation continues, we honor their memory and offer heartfelt sympathy to everyone affected by this devastating crash.
