Dr. William Duane Shidal, Jr., MD passed away on April 29, 2026, leaving behind a legacy marked by dedication, compassion, and quiet strength. A devoted radiologist, he spent his career providing thoughtful, precise care to his patients while serving as a respected and valued colleague to many within the medical community.
Throughout his professional life, Dr. Shidal was known for his meticulous attention to detail and his deep sense of responsibility. He understood that each image he reviewed represented a person placing trust in his expertise. His calm demeanor and steady approach offered reassurance to patients and brought confidence to the teams he worked alongside. Beyond his technical skill, he was widely appreciated for his kindness, patience, and willingness to support others in demanding moments.

Dr. Shidal is survived by his brothers, Randy (Virginia) Shidal and Steve (Suzanne) Shidal, both of Paducah, Kentucky; and his sister, Denise (Hal) Gilbert of Paducah, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Duane Shidal, Sr. and Ethel Henrietta Conway Shidal, and his niece, Jacquelyn N. Shidal.
