Jeff Taylor West Allis, Wisconsin Death, Obituary: Jeff Taylor, Voice of Altered Five Blues Band, Dies at 64

It is with profound sorrow that we share the passing of Jeff Taylor, beloved brother, bandmate, and the unmistakable voice of the Altered Five Blues Band. Jeff passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep on April 30, 2026, at his home in West Allis. He was 64 years old.

Jeff was more than a singer—he was the heart and soul of the band for over two decades. His powerful voice, combined with his warmth, kindness, and generous spirit, made him not only an exceptional musician but also a deeply cherished friend to many. His presence extended far beyond the stage, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege to know him.

Earlier this year, Jeff and the band celebrated meaningful milestones together, including a memorable trip to India and a series of performances supporting their latest album, Hammer & Chisel. Through it all, Jeff continued to do what he loved most—connecting with people through music and sharing his passion with audiences around the world.

His talent did not go unnoticed. DownBeat magazine once recognized him among the finest voices in modern blues, a sentiment long shared by his bandmates and fans alike. Yet beyond his musical achievements, it was his character—his authenticity, humor, and big heart—that defined him most.

Jeff leaves behind his wife, Kristen, and the entire Taylor family, who remain in the thoughts and prayers of many during this difficult time. Details regarding memorial services will be shared when available.

Fittingly, one of Jeff’s favorite songs and recent singles was titled “I Got It Good,” a reflection of the gratitude and joy he carried throughout his life.

Jeff Taylor’s legacy will live on through his music and the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed.
