Zachery Reese Johnson, age 23, of McEwen, Tennessee, passed away on April 28, 2026, at Ascension Saint Thomas Three Rivers Hospital in Waverly. Born on April 15, 2003, in Claremore, Oklahoma, Zach was the beloved son of Joshua Heath Johnson and Kristin Leigh Wilson Johnson. His passing is a profound loss to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A 2021 graduate of Waverly Central High School, Zach was known for his strong work ethic and passion for his craft. He worked as an auto body mechanic with Colt’s Auto Collision, where his talent, dedication, and attention to detail were evident in every project he undertook. Zach had a deep love for custom and race cars, and he found great joy in working with his hands and bringing vehicles to life.
Zach was a man of faith who attended Trace Creek Baptist Church. He carried his Bible with him wherever he went, reflecting the sincerity of his beliefs and the strength of his character. His faith guided him in his daily life and shaped the kindness and compassion he showed to others.
He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, caring nature, and willingness to help anyone in need. Zach had a way of making people feel valued and supported, and his presence brought comfort and warmth to those around him.
Zach is survived by his loving parents, Joshua and Kristin Johnson; his brother, Eli Johnson; his grandparents; great-grandmothers; and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by several beloved grandparents and great-grandparents.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, May 2, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at Humphreys County Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place at 2:00 p.m., with interment to follow at Turner-Johnson Cemetery in Waverly.
Zach’s life, though brief, was filled with purpose, faith, and love. His memory will be cherished always.
